Nubuck bucks? Suede saddles? A bit of both at $2.45. These unique Florsheims are just the sort of shoes I've been wanting for a
long time. The chestnut-toned nubuck feels velvety-soft and has been very well maintained, while the leather has only a few subtle scratches. I believe I've found my new go-to shoe.
Awesome find there. Those are just simply beautiful. I wonder how old they are.
ReplyDeleteJSG - Thanks, and I had been wondering that as well. After doing a little research on the history of the company's logos, I'd say these were made between mid-50's and early 60's.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it wouldn't surprise me. As I'm sure you know, there was a time when they made some pretty nice shoes. Those look like they're in mint condition too. Beyond that, I don't even know if I've ever seen that model of Florsheim before. To be honest, I don't know if I've every seen that style of makeup before. I think BB had a Black Fleece shoe recently that was suede with a shell saddle. Think it came in brown and grey. I definitely like yours better though, great color.
ReplyDeleteThose are freaking rad, and an insane steal at $2.45. Can't believe some of the cheap prices you find stuff at. You have to update your store soon, as you simply must have some great stuff that you're not going to keep. :)
ReplyDeleteMister - My favorite thrift shops in town are run by churches, so they rarely charge more than two dollars for anything. These places make Goodwill seem like Neiman Marcus. You're right, I have plenty of new things to put up. I'm hoping to turn the CKC Shoppe into a thrifter's go-to holiday shopping destination... or something like that.
