Today's Outfit - Favorite Fair Isle
I recently acquired my all-time favorite fair isle sweater from eBay. Offered several years ago from Polo, I could never afford the sweater at retail and always found it selling around $100 on eBay. Finally, my luck changed a few weeks back when I discovered it for a list price of only $17.99. I put in a maximum bid of $50, though I figured to be outbid within a few days. Amazingly, no other bids were placed and, after a $5.65 shipping charge, the sweater arrived at my door.
Today I've paired it with a Polo poplin dress shirt, raw silk tie and brown cords, Club Room argyle socks and vintage Mancuso monkstrap shoes.
What's the longest you've waited to buy a long-desired item, whether from eBay or retail, and what was it?

Easter Sunday and Eton Socks
On Easter Sunday - Orthodox, Protestant or otherwise - the motto is go loud or go home. To some, including myself, this marks the first day of the year to break out the full spring/summer wardrobe. This time around, I was fortunate to have my new Smart Turnout socks with me.
Polo Ralph Lauren bleeding madras blazer
Polo Ralph Lauren super 120s poplin shirt
Countess Mara repp silk bow tie
Club Room arygle sweater vest
Oak Hill Nantucket red chinos
Smart Turnout Eton socks
Chaps white oxfords
...
Based on a comment received, I should clarify. I would never wear all this together any other day. I'm neither that preppy nor dandy.

Return on InVestment
It's absurdly cold outside and it seems...
my new vest returned to me just in time for a bonfire.
So off I go, my Polo button-down and Merona cardigan...
along with an old Polo argyle scarf,
all bundled up under my fuzzy, flannel-lined fleece.

Today From eBay
There are two particular sweaters I've been wanting for awhile, two pieces I've been hoping to come across on eBay since spotting them at RalphLauren.com in the past few seasons. Today, I purchased both on eBay for $49.85.
Up first is this argyle sweater. I enjoy the vivid color combination of green and purple, which remains understated against a chocolate brown base tone. A great blend of cotton and cashmere, it will be perfect to wear throughout most of the year.
Next comes a special take on the classic cricket sweater. A cable knit has been substituted by intricate herringbone and the collar holds several rich colors, as opposed to the traditional two-tone take. I couldn't have been happier to discover this piece in the middle of winter, as I'll be getting immediate use of this wool and cashmere blend.
Please remember to visit the CKC Shoppe and use your 10% discount with code CKC10, which expires Friday.
