Today's Outfit - Back in Boots
Without power the past several days, I've been unable to work, unable to blog, unable to function. Of course, I'm blessed not to have been worse off, and those still suffering on the east coast are in my prayers. Today I thought it appropriate to share some of my regular cold weather gear.
Polo cotton flannel shirt - Flannel is a must this time of year.
Polo aran-knit pima cotton sweater - Quite functional and warm for cotton, still stylish.
Levi's 550 jeans - Everybody needs jeans that can be beat up and worn down in snow.
American Eagle boot socks - A cotton blend, these socks from the other AE are a fall favorite.
Eddie Bauer vintage duck boots - With a shearling lining, this $1 thrift find beats Bean's standard duck mocs.
Not pictured are my Polo quilted jacket and quilted leather (cashmere lined) gloves.

CKC Pop-Up Shoppe
I'm quite proud and pleased to say that the CKC Pop-Up Shoppe made its debut yesterday. My cousin held a grand opening for his pharmacy, and he granted me the opportunity to feature the CKC Shoppe alongside the booths of several local businesses. In preparation of autumn, I offered a selection of tweed, corduroy and Shetland wool sport coats, as well as a vintage cowichan Abercrombie sweater-coat. Wool and heavyweight cotton sweaters were coordinated with a variety of flannel and twill sport shirts. A collection of silk and wool foulard were interspersed with cotton flannels and wool knit ties. Small sets of lambswool scarves and tweed hats were also available. Unlike Giuseppe of AAF, my city doesn't offer quite the same options to hold a pop-up flea, so I've long anticipated the fruition of a real CKC Shoppe. I'm very happy with how things turned out, and I'm so grateful for those that have supported me both online and in person.
Plenty is left over, so expect to see some of these items online pretty soon.

C.K.C. Suggests L.L. Bean
I don't shop L.L. Bean too often, but lately I've come upon this excellent, very reasonably priced set of flannel shirts. Where I live, the temperature drops often enough to need a couple durable flannel shirts. These run $29.50 and are composed of premium Portuguese brushed cotton flannel. The cloth is yarn-dyed and roomy enough for extra layering. On top of all that, they're sold in four of my favorite tartans.

Royal Stewart. Bright and Bold.

Dress Thomson. Less seen, just as bold.

Dress Gordon. Always a classic.

Black Watch. My favorite, of course.
What's yours? And what's your favorite L.L. Bean piece?
